Narrative:
During preflight, noticed only 1 out of 2 firing pins would arm on fire extinguisher bottles. Not having system description (only by memory) believed that both firing pins should arm on each engine. Called maintenance. Maintenance control, having system description in front of him, convinced me that I was wrong, and that fire protection system worked properly. I accepted airplane, flew it to seatac. Later in seatac, reviewed system manual at maintenance. It turns out that I was right and maintenance control was wrong. Made proper entry in maintenance logbook. I believe, system description should be in airplanes.
