Narrative:
After landing, exiting runway, I observed a yellow truck and an individual dragging a hose on the taxiway. I veered back onto the runway and used the next exit. When tower was questioned about this, 'men and equipment' on taxiway, he said, 'they are off the taxiway, so it made no difference.' we wanted to know why wasn't this on the ATIS. He said that if we had a problem, we should call the airport authority/authorized. 'Wow,' we were shocked! I reported this incident to pilot's organization group.
