Narrative:
Passing over civet for the civet 4 arrival at FL180 we were cleared for the mitts arrival to runway 24R at lax. We had briefed and loaded the FMC's for the civet 4 runway 25R at lax. In trying to accommodate the last min change the mitts arrival was loaded but the civet transition was not selected. Snorkel intersection was not loaded. We crossed mitts between 10000 ft and 11000 ft as depicted. The controller informed us that we did not cross snorkel at or above 12000 ft. He was correct. Our attempt to accommodate the controllers change of arrival caused us to rush our cockpit duties which resulted in the mistake. In the future I will refuse to accept a change in arrival once we have begun the descent for another. We simply require more planning. Socal is known for last min arrival and runway changes coupled with maintaining abnormal airspeed request while on the approach. Their lack of airspace management and planning continues because pilots are too often willing to accommodate them. I will request vectors for another sequence in the future.

Title: A B737 FLT CREW HAVE A LAST MIN CHANGE WHICH RESULTED IN A XING RESTR NOT BEING MET.
Narrative: PASSING OVER CIVET FOR THE CIVET 4 ARR AT FL180 WE WERE CLRED FOR THE MITTS ARR TO RWY 24R AT LAX. WE HAD BRIEFED AND LOADED THE FMC'S FOR THE CIVET 4 RWY 25R AT LAX. IN TRYING TO ACCOMMODATE THE LAST MIN CHANGE THE MITTS ARR WAS LOADED BUT THE CIVET TRANSITION WAS NOT SELECTED. SNORKEL INTXN WAS NOT LOADED. WE CROSSED MITTS BTWN 10000 FT AND 11000 FT AS DEPICTED. THE CTLR INFORMED US THAT WE DID NOT CROSS SNORKEL AT OR ABOVE 12000 FT. HE WAS CORRECT. OUR ATTEMPT TO ACCOMMODATE THE CTLRS CHANGE OF ARR CAUSED US TO RUSH OUR COCKPIT DUTIES WHICH RESULTED IN THE MISTAKE. IN THE FUTURE I WILL REFUSE TO ACCEPT A CHANGE IN ARR ONCE WE HAVE BEGUN THE DSCNT FOR ANOTHER. WE SIMPLY REQUIRE MORE PLANNING. SOCAL IS KNOWN FOR LAST MIN ARR AND RWY CHANGES COUPLED WITH MAINTAINING ABNORMAL AIRSPD REQUEST WHILE ON THE APCH. THEIR LACK OF AIRSPACE MGMNT AND PLANNING CONTINUES BECAUSE PLTS ARE TOO OFTEN WILLING TO ACCOMMODATE THEM. I WILL REQUEST VECTORS FOR ANOTHER SEQUENCE IN THE FUTURE.
