Narrative:
On a sunday pleasure flight, I landed at oceano, ca (L52) airport. I was informed after landing that the airport was closed. I did not check for NOTAMS. I observed on downwind an ultralight aircraft takeoff, and also observed another aircraft landing. There were no X's on the runway. I heard other aircraft announcing position on unicom indicating intentions to land at oceano. If an airport is closed, it should have an 'X' on the runway.
