Narrative:
On dec/wed/03, while taking off from the fulton county airport in IMC, I drifted off my runway heading and came close to another aircraft which saw me on his TCASII. At the time of the incident, it was really gusty and I was at gross weight. This incident happened because at that time I had very little experience in that airplane. I have since flown the aircraft a lot more and thus I am much more experienced in it. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter said he received an IFR clearance from fty tower that required he fly runway heading after takeoff for radar vectors. He said on contact with atl departure control, he was advised he had drifted 25 degrees off course resulting in a loss of separation with a civil jet. He was told the civil jet crew received a TCASII alert and took evasive action. The reporter said the incident is under review by FAA flight standards.

Title: C208 PLT DEPARTS FTY IFR IN TURBULENT WX, HAS AN NMAC WITH A CIVIL JET OPERATING NEAR THE ATL ARPT.
Narrative: ON DEC/WED/03, WHILE TAKING OFF FROM THE FULTON COUNTY ARPT IN IMC, I DRIFTED OFF MY RWY HDG AND CAME CLOSE TO ANOTHER ACFT WHICH SAW ME ON HIS TCASII. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, IT WAS REALLY GUSTY AND I WAS AT GROSS WT. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE AT THAT TIME I HAD VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN THAT AIRPLANE. I HAVE SINCE FLOWN THE ACFT A LOT MORE AND THUS I AM MUCH MORE EXPERIENCED IN IT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR SAID HE RECEIVED AN IFR CLRNC FROM FTY TWR THAT REQUIRED HE FLY RWY HDG AFTER TKOF FOR RADAR VECTORS. HE SAID ON CONTACT WITH ATL DEP CTL, HE WAS ADVISED HE HAD DRIFTED 25 DEGS OFF COURSE RESULTING IN A LOSS OF SEPARATION WITH A CIVIL JET. HE WAS TOLD THE CIVIL JET CREW RECEIVED A TCASII ALERT AND TOOK EVASIVE ACTION. THE RPTR SAID THE INCIDENT IS UNDER REVIEW BY FAA FLT STANDARDS.
