A white color lens was put on emergency light for overwing exit 5 days prior to its visit at ZZZ and I failed to notice that a red color lens should have been installed instead during an overnight check.

Title: A B767-300 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN OVERWING EMER EXIT LIGHT NON STANDARD WHITE COVER INSTALLED. REQUIRED RED LENS INSTALLED.
Narrative: A WHITE COLOR LENS WAS PUT ON EMER LIGHT FOR OVERWING EXIT 5 DAYS PRIOR TO ITS VISIT AT ZZZ AND I FAILED TO NOTICE THAT A RED COLOR LENS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED INSTEAD DURING AN OVERNIGHT CHK.
