Narrative:

Captain's leg. 'Cleared for takeoff set standard power.' first officer set standard power then turned on the autothrottles. Most DC10-30's have autothrottles for takeoff except these few DC10's. The throttles rolled back and the captain rejected the takeoff. All procedures were completed. All this happened at less than 80 KTS. To prevent future problems, a placard which states: 'autothrottles not authority/authorized for takeoff' should be placed on the panel like other DC10's that do not have autothrottle takeoff capability.
