Narrative:
After departure, we had a very strong odor of electrical burning, followed by message 'standby inverter failure.' we declared an emergency and returned to mia. Requested crash fire rescue equipment to stand by. Landed and had no further problems. Maintenance found standby inverter to be the problem.
