Narrative:
In-flight, the flight attendant called the cockpit and informed me that a passenger had gotten up and went to the restroom within the final mins (approximately 5-10) of the flight. The flight attendant went back to the restroom and informed the passenger that he needed to return to his seat, which he did. She informed us that she felt that he was not a threat and that he had complied with her request to return to his seat. After gate arrival, the flight attendant again talked with me prior to passenger deplanement and said that several passenger in the general area of where this passenger was sitting were uncomfortable with the passenger's actions. This additional information, as well as the fact that the restroom was MEL'ed and placarded 'inoperative -- do not use,' prompted me to have security meet the passenger at the gate and talk with him and have the plane checked out to confirm that nothing had been left behind in the restroom by this passenger. I was in contact and notified my dispatcher as things were happening and they informed the mod. I also left a message on the chief pilot's answering machine. Prior to this, I had been in contact with the chief pilot.

Narrative: INFLT, THE FLT ATTENDANT CALLED THE COCKPIT AND INFORMED ME THAT A PAX HAD GOTTEN UP AND WENT TO THE RESTROOM WITHIN THE FINAL MINS (APPROX 5-10) OF THE FLT. THE FLT ATTENDANT WENT BACK TO THE RESTROOM AND INFORMED THE PAX THAT HE NEEDED TO RETURN TO HIS SEAT, WHICH HE DID. SHE INFORMED US THAT SHE FELT THAT HE WAS NOT A THREAT AND THAT HE HAD COMPLIED WITH HER REQUEST TO RETURN TO HIS SEAT. AFTER GATE ARR, THE FLT ATTENDANT AGAIN TALKED WITH ME PRIOR TO PAX DEPLANEMENT AND SAID THAT SEVERAL PAX IN THE GENERAL AREA OF WHERE THIS PAX WAS SITTING WERE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE PAX'S ACTIONS. THIS ADDITIONAL INFO, AS WELL AS THE FACT THAT THE RESTROOM WAS MEL'ED AND PLACARDED 'INOP -- DO NOT USE,' PROMPTED ME TO HAVE SECURITY MEET THE PAX AT THE GATE AND TALK WITH HIM AND HAVE THE PLANE CHKED OUT TO CONFIRM THAT NOTHING HAD BEEN LEFT BEHIND IN THE RESTROOM BY THIS PAX. I WAS IN CONTACT AND NOTIFIED MY DISPATCHER AS THINGS WERE HAPPENING AND THEY INFORMED THE MOD. I ALSO LEFT A MESSAGE ON THE CHIEF PLT'S ANSWERING MACHINE. PRIOR TO THIS, I HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE CHIEF PLT.
