Narrative:

Controller made mistake by initially keeping us high, then asking us to expedite a touch and go. It was obvious that we were too high and I took the opportunity to teach my student a slip. While slipping the controller said, 'there is not enough runway available, go around!' by the time I conveyed the message to my student, the controller was again yelling, 'go around!' he said a 'deviation' had occurred. There were only 2 aircraft in his airspace at that time. Controllers need to understand and be patient with CFI's because we are trying to train our students for these 'real life' occurrences.
