Narrative:

About 30 mins after takeoff, while performing a beverage service in the aft portion of coach, the #2 flight attendant and myself (#4) smelled something burning, a very strong odor. I told him to call the #1 flight attendant to see if she was burning something in the oven. He picked up the phone in the aft galley and the captain was already on the interphone telling the #1 flight attendant to 'hang-on, we're on fire up here.' we immediately stowed our cart in the back and waited for instructions. There was no doubt in the passenger's minds that something wasn't right, as the fumes were getting more intense. The captain finally got on the PA, told the passenger what was going on and to please pay attention to your flight attendants. The flight attendants then went through our planned emergency checklist. We completed through our briefing of the passenger and specifically the assistants at particular exits. We landed in ZZZ and waited for the fire trucks to look us over for external fire. The aircraft looked ok, so they escorted us to the gate and we deplaned all the passenger. We were told that it was an electrical fire in the left side of the cockpit. There were no injuries, just a lot of 'shook-up' people (including crew members).

Title: B757-200 CREW RETURNED TO THEIR DEP ARPT WITH AN ELECTRICAL COCKPIT FIRE.

Narrative: ABOUT 30 MINS AFTER TKOF, WHILE PERFORMING A BEVERAGE SVC IN THE AFT PORTION OF COACH, THE #2 FLT ATTENDANT AND MYSELF (#4) SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, A VERY STRONG ODOR. I TOLD HIM TO CALL THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT TO SEE IF SHE WAS BURNING SOMETHING IN THE OVEN. HE PICKED UP THE PHONE IN THE AFT GALLEY AND THE CAPT WAS ALREADY ON THE INTERPHONE TELLING THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT TO 'HANG-ON, WE'RE ON FIRE UP HERE.' WE IMMEDIATELY STOWED OUR CART IN THE BACK AND WAITED FOR INSTRUCTIONS. THERE WAS NO DOUBT IN THE PAX'S MINDS THAT SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT, AS THE FUMES WERE GETTING MORE INTENSE. THE CAPT FINALLY GOT ON THE PA, TOLD THE PAX WHAT WAS GOING ON AND TO PLEASE PAY ATTN TO YOUR FLT ATTENDANTS. THE FLT ATTENDANTS THEN WENT THROUGH OUR PLANNED EMER CHKLIST. WE COMPLETED THROUGH OUR BRIEFING OF THE PAX AND SPECIFICALLY THE ASSISTANTS AT PARTICULAR EXITS. WE LANDED IN ZZZ AND WAITED FOR THE FIRE TRUCKS TO LOOK US OVER FOR EXTERNAL FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, JUST A LOT OF 'SHOOK-UP' PEOPLE (INCLUDING CREW MEMBERS).
