Narrative:
After landing dfw, and taxiing to the gate going east on taxiway a (at taxiway ja) I saw a police car doing 50-60 mph, with lights on going south on the service road by txwys K and ja. I saw him for less than a second, and slammed on the brakes. Had I not, he would have gone under the aircraft at the nosewheel. He saw us at the last min, and slammed on the brakes, and skidded about 10 ft, or more. We reported this to the tower.
