Narrative:
I was the flight instructor on a flight that involved a practice emergency landing at a grass airstrip. The approach was straight in over trees. The student and I used a gumps check early in the approach but elected not to put the gear down because of the extra drag. When we were about to land, we used flaps and did not use a final gumps check. We landed gear up. Practicing emergency lndgs in other flts off field may have been a factor in not putting the gear down.
