Narrative:
First officer leg disconnected autoplt, held button trim 1/2 fail on EICAS light version 17.5. On approach approximately 900 ft, landed. System worked normal. Called maintenance, ferried to ZZZ. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the pitch trim system operated normally and it was discovered the first officer held the autoplt disconnect switch too long a period of time.

Narrative: FO LEG DISCONNECTED AUTOPLT, HELD BUTTON TRIM 1/2 FAIL ON EICAS LIGHT VERSION 17.5. ON APCH APPROX 900 FT, LANDED. SYS WORKED NORMAL. CALLED MAINT, FERRIED TO ZZZ. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE PITCH TRIM SYS OPERATED NORMALLY AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THE FO HELD THE AUTOPLT DISCONNECT SWITCH TOO LONG A PERIOD OF TIME.
