Narrative:
Operated XXXX ZZZ to ZZZ1 without any mechanical problems and without any open write-ups. After arriving in ZZZ1, maintenance informed us that the aircraft was grounded due to incomplete action taken by ZZZ maintenance in trying to correct a previous pitch trim failure write-up. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the pitch trim system operated normally and no malfunctions were noted until our arrival at ZZZ1 where we were advised the airplane was grounded. The reporter said the departure station maintenance worked an inbound report of the failure of the pitch trim system #1 and #2. The reporter stated a pitch trim computer was replaced and the circuit breaker reset and the logbook signed off without the checking and testing the system per the maintenance manual. The reporter said fortunately the station fixed the problem and the pitch trim system #1 and #2 operation was normal.
