Narrative:
Approximately XA30, performed routine preflight. Received IFR and taxi clearance. Run-up normal. Taxi roll as usual. At liftoff, checked airspeed. It was jittery and seemed to indicate low. Asked and received clearance to land. Landing normal. Rolled down runway approximately 300 ft before applying brakes. Aircraft veered right. Put in full corrective action on left brake. Aircraft continued right and departed runway. Struck runway intersection sign. The sign damaged aircraft. The sign was very close to runway (5-10 ft). The signs could be improved so they don't do so much damage.
