Narrative:
While taxiing into position for takeoff on runway 26L, I received a 'smoke cargo' warning. I continued my taxi off the active runway and ordered first officer to perform immediate action items for the warning. The procedure called for an evacuate/evacuation. I stopped the aircraft and the evacuate/evacuation was performed in accordance with company SOP and resulted in no injuries.
