Narrative:

Depart ZZZ to ZZZ1 to pick up part 135 passenger. Depart 3v5 to lnd and arrive uneventfully. Company official calls to notify me that the aircraft has been deemed unairworthy by ZZZ2 FSDO. Turns out that the aircraft was inspected, the day prior to my flight, by ZZZ3 FSDO personnel for the purposes of approving its placement on another company's part 135 certificate. The ZZZ3 FSDO sent a facsimile listing 14 discrepancies to the ZZZ2 office (FSDO) at around XA00 am the next morning. ZZZ2 FSDO immediately calls my company director of maintenance and he immediately grounds the airplane. All of this activity has occurred after I have arrived at my destination. Naturally, there is/was no way I could have known the aircraft was (or was thought to be), unairworthy. I feel the ZZZ3 FSDO should have notified our company directly and/or placed placards physically on the aircraft. I did my usual preflight and found the aircraft ready for flight. There were no discrepancies in the logbook. Several days later, I received a maintenance ferry permit to fly the aircraft from lnd to ZZZ4 (our maintenance base). Permit was issued by ZZZ2 FSDO with the limitation that the aircraft be inspected by an a&P before departure. A local a&P/ia inspected the aircraft and signed the ferry permit. I flew aircraft back to ZZZ4 for maintenance.
