Narrative:
Cruising with autoplt engaged, ATC asked if we were level at FL350. The controller advised we had traffic below us. The aircraft I was flying was level at FL350. I informed the controller we were level and requested FL390 due to moderate to severe turbulence reported in area 70 mi ahead of us. The controller told me they were 'pulling the tapes' to check things out. The controller said radar showed us not at FL350. The controller then gave us FL390 and handed us off.
