Narrative:

On takeoff from iah, we received a nosewheel warning message indicating that our nosewheel had not retracted properly. We stepped through the appropriate emergency checklist (nosewheel disagree), declared an emergency (per the checklist) and returned to land. We pre-warned approach control (iah) that per our emergency checklist we would not have nosewheel steering and thereby would need a tug to remove us from the taxiway. We landed uneventfully.
