Narrative:
I got a normal (for nrt) nightsouth rest and caught a nap before pickup. Halfway through the flight I had to deal with a bad case of the nods. Descent profile into hnl was normal, and approach appeared to be within stabilized parameters. The airplane wanted to float and had to be forced to touch down. It wasnT until after parking that we both realized the speed bug was still at an intermediate setting -- 32 KTS above referenced speed. In hindsight, seat adjustment seemed high. Sensations of speed and noise were wrong and reversing was sloppy. My instincts had failed me. Flying this all night trip, back across the dateline, without a relief pilot is not safe. Anyone that tells you that they can do it without wanting to close their eyes is lying and wonT admit they are not 100%.
