Narrative:

I am very familiar with dab and the normal procedures used for departures and arrs. When I requested my taxi clearance, I received a clearance I was not expecting. I started to taxi, then I decided to query ATC to ensure they had my proper direction of flight. I lost situational awareness of where I was on the airport. I thought I was approaching an intersecting taxiway, when in fact it was an active runway. When I realized where I was, I tried to stop, but slid across the hold short line. I remained well clear of the runway edge line. There was no traffic on the runway, so I was instructed to just cross the runway and continue taxiing. I then received new taxi instructions, which were the instructions that I expected initially.

I STARTED TO TAXI, THEN I DECIDED TO QUERY ATC TO ENSURE THEY HAD MY PROPER DIRECTION OF FLT. I LOST SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OF WHERE I WAS ON THE ARPT. I THOUGHT I WAS APCHING AN INTERSECTING TXWY, WHEN IN FACT IT WAS AN ACTIVE RWY. WHEN I REALIZED WHERE I WAS, I TRIED TO STOP, BUT SLID ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE. I REMAINED WELL CLR OF THE RWY EDGE LINE. THERE WAS NO TFC ON THE RWY, SO I WAS INSTRUCTED TO JUST CROSS THE RWY AND CONTINUE TAXIING.
