Narrative:
Cleared for ILS runway 9 by mia approach. We were switched to tower and cleared to land about 5 mi out. We were flying a coupled approach and at GS capture, we got a TCASII TA. A visual scan was negative. There were numerous contacts on our TCASII display. Approximately 1200 ft, we got an RA with a monitor vertical speed, followed almost immediately by a climb. I disconnected the autoplt, added power, and pulled back on the stick. At nearly the same time, I picked up a visual on a red and white cessna skymaster crossing left to right bearing 200 degrees, immediately under our nose at 200 ft. After completing our evasive maneuver, we asked tower about the traffic. They were unaware of any traffic. The skymaster appeared to take no evasive action. Following landing, an near midair collision report was filed with miami TRACON. Thank goodness for TCASII.

Title: DC10 FLT CREW ON FINAL WITH MIA TWR, RWY 9, EXPERIENCED TCASII RA AT 1200 FT WITH UNKNOWN TFC.
Narrative: CLRED FOR ILS RWY 9 BY MIA APCH. WE WERE SWITCHED TO TWR AND CLRED TO LAND ABOUT 5 MI OUT. WE WERE FLYING A COUPLED APCH AND AT GS CAPTURE, WE GOT A TCASII TA. A VISUAL SCAN WAS NEGATIVE. THERE WERE NUMEROUS CONTACTS ON OUR TCASII DISPLAY. APPROX 1200 FT, WE GOT AN RA WITH A MONITOR VERT SPD, FOLLOWED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY BY A CLB. I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT, ADDED PWR, AND PULLED BACK ON THE STICK. AT NEARLY THE SAME TIME, I PICKED UP A VISUAL ON A RED AND WHITE CESSNA SKYMASTER XING L TO R BEARING 200 DEGS, IMMEDIATELY UNDER OUR NOSE AT 200 FT. AFTER COMPLETING OUR EVASIVE MANEUVER, WE ASKED TWR ABOUT THE TFC. THEY WERE UNAWARE OF ANY TFC. THE SKYMASTER APPEARED TO TAKE NO EVASIVE ACTION. FOLLOWING LNDG, AN NMAC RPT WAS FILED WITH MIAMI TRACON. THANK GOODNESS FOR TCASII.
