Narrative:
With 1 leg remaining in the day's flying, I called the company to advise I would be writing some discrepancies (MEL deferrable and watch list items) on arrival ZZZ1. This was a verbal 'heads up' -- no discrepancy forms were filled out. Maintenance indicated they would MEL/defer. I concurred. Boarded 4 passenger for the last leg of the day. Departed on time. Arrived uneventfully. Filled out 6 discrepancy forms and, in accordance with company instructions, faxed to company maintenance, then called to verify receipt. At this point, crew went 'duty-off' and departed for the hotel. After arriving at the hotel, I received a call from maintenance indicating they were unable to get access to the aircraft because it was locked. I revisited the discussion I had in ZZZ where maintenance indicated 'they would defer the items.' I further indicated I would not return to the aircraft to unlock it for them, and that I would 'take care of it in the morning,' that I would keep originals in my personal possession. As it happens, our trips were changed in the night which generated a call from dispatch to advise our new departure time was now an hour earlier than previously briefed. While the aircraft was being prepared for flight, I did the WX brief and filed a flight plan. Once filed, I called maintenance to ensure there were 'no loose ends,' reference the above discrepancies (originals in my personal possession, not in status book) and that I would (administratively) complete them in ZZZ, time being close to scheduled departure for the repos leg. On arrival ZZZ, contact was made with maintenance to appropriately defer the items (2 were watch listed). Once documented, the annotated forms were faxed to maintenance and a follow-up call confirmed receipt. Originals were filed in the aircraft status book, per company policy. Prior to arrival of passenger, company advised the trips were canceled for this aircraft. This was confirmed by a call to dispatch, indicating the aircraft was to be moved to another location on the field ZZZ for maintenance. Further, it was determined the aircraft was flown with open discrepancies, and that a 'self-disclosure' to the FAA was to be made.

Title: A CANADAIR CL-60 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN AND UNANSWERED LOG DISCREPANCIES.
Narrative: WITH 1 LEG REMAINING IN THE DAY'S FLYING, I CALLED THE COMPANY TO ADVISE I WOULD BE WRITING SOME DISCREPANCIES (MEL DEFERRABLE AND WATCH LIST ITEMS) ON ARR ZZZ1. THIS WAS A VERBAL 'HEADS UP' -- NO DISCREPANCY FORMS WERE FILLED OUT. MAINT INDICATED THEY WOULD MEL/DEFER. I CONCURRED. BOARDED 4 PAX FOR THE LAST LEG OF THE DAY. DEPARTED ON TIME. ARRIVED UNEVENTFULLY. FILLED OUT 6 DISCREPANCY FORMS AND, IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPANY INSTRUCTIONS, FAXED TO COMPANY MAINT, THEN CALLED TO VERIFY RECEIPT. AT THIS POINT, CREW WENT 'DUTY-OFF' AND DEPARTED FOR THE HOTEL. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE HOTEL, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MAINT INDICATING THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET ACCESS TO THE ACFT BECAUSE IT WAS LOCKED. I REVISITED THE DISCUSSION I HAD IN ZZZ WHERE MAINT INDICATED 'THEY WOULD DEFER THE ITEMS.' I FURTHER INDICATED I WOULD NOT RETURN TO THE ACFT TO UNLOCK IT FOR THEM, AND THAT I WOULD 'TAKE CARE OF IT IN THE MORNING,' THAT I WOULD KEEP ORIGINALS IN MY PERSONAL POSSESSION. AS IT HAPPENS, OUR TRIPS WERE CHANGED IN THE NIGHT WHICH GENERATED A CALL FROM DISPATCH TO ADVISE OUR NEW DEP TIME WAS NOW AN HR EARLIER THAN PREVIOUSLY BRIEFED. WHILE THE ACFT WAS BEING PREPARED FOR FLT, I DID THE WX BRIEF AND FILED A FLT PLAN. ONCE FILED, I CALLED MAINT TO ENSURE THERE WERE 'NO LOOSE ENDS,' REF THE ABOVE DISCREPANCIES (ORIGINALS IN MY PERSONAL POSSESSION, NOT IN STATUS BOOK) AND THAT I WOULD (ADMINISTRATIVELY) COMPLETE THEM IN ZZZ, TIME BEING CLOSE TO SCHEDULED DEP FOR THE REPOS LEG. ON ARR ZZZ, CONTACT WAS MADE WITH MAINT TO APPROPRIATELY DEFER THE ITEMS (2 WERE WATCH LISTED). ONCE DOCUMENTED, THE ANNOTATED FORMS WERE FAXED TO MAINT AND A FOLLOW-UP CALL CONFIRMED RECEIPT. ORIGINALS WERE FILED IN THE ACFT STATUS BOOK, PER COMPANY POLICY. PRIOR TO ARR OF PAX, COMPANY ADVISED THE TRIPS WERE CANCELED FOR THIS ACFT. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY A CALL TO DISPATCH, INDICATING THE ACFT WAS TO BE MOVED TO ANOTHER LOCATION ON THE FIELD ZZZ FOR MAINT. FURTHER, IT WAS DETERMINED THE ACFT WAS FLOWN WITH OPEN DISCREPANCIES, AND THAT A 'SELF-DISCLOSURE' TO THE FAA WAS TO BE MADE.
