Narrative:
Cleared for visual to runway 9L at pbi. Captain had briefed localizer runway 9L approach. Once cleared for approach, adjusted MDA of 400 ft was set in alerter. There is an altitude restr on the plate of 520 ft until 2.5 DME. Under visual conditions, captain descended below 520 ft MSL before 2.5 DME stepdown. Tower advised of a low altitude alert. Landing was otherwise uneventful.

Narrative: CLRED FOR VISUAL TO RWY 9L AT PBI. CAPT HAD BRIEFED LOC RWY 9L APCH. ONCE CLRED FOR APCH, ADJUSTED MDA OF 400 FT WAS SET IN ALERTER. THERE IS AN ALT RESTR ON THE PLATE OF 520 FT UNTIL 2.5 DME. UNDER VISUAL CONDITIONS, CAPT DSNDED BELOW 520 FT MSL BEFORE 2.5 DME STEPDOWN. TWR ADVISED OF A LOW ALT ALERT. LNDG WAS OTHERWISE UNEVENTFUL.
