Narrative:
I had just landed on runway 22 at jvl with landing traffic behind me. I took the first turn-off to taxiway a. Unfortunately this was runway 13, which was not in use (only runway 22 was in use per ATIS). Tower advised me of my mistake. I had printed the airport diagram as part of flight planning and had it on my kneeboard, but did not remember the details regarding which turn-offs were txwys and which were runways. I did not look at the airport signs before making my turn. Next time I will study the diagram more carefully. I will also review airport signs.
