Narrative:
I was approaching X60 from the east at approximately 1300 ft MSL. About 3 mi out with airport in sight I announced my position on the CTAF (122.8). At the time my intent was to cross midfield and enter a left downwind for landing on runway 5. At that time I saw another aircraft at my elevation over the field moving south to north. I turned left staying out of the pattern, went south, then west of the field and entered the left downwind from the east. I flew a l-hand pattern announcing downwind, base, final. While on downwind I saw no aircraft on runway 5/23. On final I was focused on the numbers and not until I was flaring did I see an aircraft taxiing on about midway on runway 5/23 coming south on the west side of the runway. Runway 5/23 is 150 ft wide so I touched down and moved to the right. I and the other aircraft both stopped, 500 ft apart, he on the west and me on the east. He made radio contact with me but he either did not hear me or would not respond. The maule announced that he would taxi to runway 14. I moved into the grass and waited until he took off and then taxied to runway 14 and departed. Contributing factor: I do not think my radio was transmitting and I reported that to the FBO when I returned the aircraft (a rental). Corrective actions: I will pay much more attention up and down the entire length of the runway while on final and not get fixated on my GS and touchdown point. I immediately purchased a handheld VHF radio/transmitter and will start doing my own radio checks if necessary.

Title: C172 LANDED AT X60 WITH M4 ON RWY TAXIING AND OR LNDG IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
Narrative: I WAS APCHING X60 FROM THE E AT APPROX 1300 FT MSL. ABOUT 3 MI OUT WITH ARPT IN SIGHT I ANNOUNCED MY POS ON THE CTAF (122.8). AT THE TIME MY INTENT WAS TO CROSS MIDFIELD AND ENTER A L DOWNWIND FOR LNDG ON RWY 5. AT THAT TIME I SAW ANOTHER ACFT AT MY ELEVATION OVER THE FIELD MOVING S TO N. I TURNED L STAYING OUT OF THE PATTERN, WENT S, THEN W OF THE FIELD AND ENTERED THE L DOWNWIND FROM THE E. I FLEW A L-HAND PATTERN ANNOUNCING DOWNWIND, BASE, FINAL. WHILE ON DOWNWIND I SAW NO ACFT ON RWY 5/23. ON FINAL I WAS FOCUSED ON THE NUMBERS AND NOT UNTIL I WAS FLARING DID I SEE AN ACFT TAXIING ON ABOUT MIDWAY ON RWY 5/23 COMING S ON THE W SIDE OF THE RWY. RWY 5/23 IS 150 FT WIDE SO I TOUCHED DOWN AND MOVED TO THE R. I AND THE OTHER ACFT BOTH STOPPED, 500 FT APART, HE ON THE W AND ME ON THE E. HE MADE RADIO CONTACT WITH ME BUT HE EITHER DID NOT HEAR ME OR WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE MAULE ANNOUNCED THAT HE WOULD TAXI TO RWY 14. I MOVED INTO THE GRASS AND WAITED UNTIL HE TOOK OFF AND THEN TAXIED TO RWY 14 AND DEPARTED. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: I DO NOT THINK MY RADIO WAS XMITTING AND I RPTED THAT TO THE FBO WHEN I RETURNED THE ACFT (A RENTAL). CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: I WILL PAY MUCH MORE ATTN UP AND DOWN THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE RWY WHILE ON FINAL AND NOT GET FIXATED ON MY GS AND TOUCHDOWN POINT. I IMMEDIATELY PURCHASED A HANDHELD VHF RADIO/XMITTER AND WILL START DOING MY OWN RADIO CHKS IF NECESSARY.
