Narrative:
During en route climb through FL248 from psp, the cabin altitude climb rate increased to 3000 FPM then to 5000 FPM. Rapidly approaching maximum cabin differential, the PF (sic) executed an emergency descent (we declared with ATC). We donned the oxygen mask and descended to 12000 ft. The PNF (PIC) called ZLA and declared an emergency. Upon descent, reaching 12000 ft, the PIC gave ATC the pertinent information required by ATC and returned to psp. No injuries to the crew, and no damage to the aircraft that can be determined by crew. All other system on the aircraft worked normal. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated after arrival at the diversion station, passenger and crew were switched to another airplane and no maintenance data was available.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A BAE125-800 AT FL248 DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE.
Narrative: DURING ENRTE CLB THROUGH FL248 FROM PSP, THE CABIN ALT CLB RATE INCREASED TO 3000 FPM THEN TO 5000 FPM. RAPIDLY APCHING MAX CABIN DIFFERENTIAL, THE PF (SIC) EXECUTED AN EMER DSCNT (WE DECLARED WITH ATC). WE DONNED THE OXYGEN MASK AND DSNDED TO 12000 FT. THE PNF (PIC) CALLED ZLA AND DECLARED AN EMER. UPON DSCNT, REACHING 12000 FT, THE PIC GAVE ATC THE PERTINENT INFO REQUIRED BY ATC AND RETURNED TO PSP. NO INJURIES TO THE CREW, AND NO DAMAGE TO THE ACFT THAT CAN BE DETERMINED BY CREW. ALL OTHER SYS ON THE ACFT WORKED NORMAL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED AFTER ARR AT THE DIVERSION STATION, PAX AND CREW WERE SWITCHED TO ANOTHER AIRPLANE AND NO MAINT DATA WAS AVAILABLE.
