Narrative:

Deviation from clearance heading. This sequence was my first experience flying out of tbpb. Prior to beginning the before starting engines checklist, I reviewed the noise abatement procedures on the tbpb airport page and the SID that was filed in the release. I noted that the SID incorporated the procedures outlined on the airport page. When I selected the SID in the CDU, the captain told me that tower would most likely clear us for a VFR departure, followed by a clearance to join the airway. When I asked if he thought we should delete the SID on the CDU route page, he replied in the affirmative. Our takeoff clearance from tower was 'cleared for takeoff, turn left on course,' which matched what the captain had briefed. During the initial climb, at approximately 1000 ft AGL, the captain started a left turn on course, just as I expected him to do. 1/2 way through the turn, tbpb tower informed us that the noise abatement procedure required that we climb to 2500 ft before initiating any turns. Supplemental information from acn 620494: I was wrong to assume that the clearance waved the noise abatement procedure.

Title: HDG TRACK DEV AND ALTDEV DURING A VFR DEP WHEN PIC ASSUMED THAT THE REVISED DEP CLRNC DELETED THE REQUIRED NOISE ABATEMENT TURN AT A HIGHER ALT DEP TBPB, FO.

Narrative: DEV FROM CLRNC HDG. THIS SEQUENCE WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE FLYING OUT OF TBPB. PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE BEFORE STARTING ENGS CHKLIST, I REVIEWED THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROCS ON THE TBPB ARPT PAGE AND THE SID THAT WAS FILED IN THE RELEASE. I NOTED THAT THE SID INCORPORATED THE PROCS OUTLINED ON THE ARPT PAGE. WHEN I SELECTED THE SID IN THE CDU, THE CAPT TOLD ME THAT TWR WOULD MOST LIKELY CLR US FOR A VFR DEP, FOLLOWED BY A CLRNC TO JOIN THE AIRWAY. WHEN I ASKED IF HE THOUGHT WE SHOULD DELETE THE SID ON THE CDU RTE PAGE, HE REPLIED IN THE AFFIRMATIVE. OUR TKOF CLRNC FROM TWR WAS 'CLRED FOR TKOF, TURN L ON COURSE,' WHICH MATCHED WHAT THE CAPT HAD BRIEFED. DURING THE INITIAL CLB, AT APPROX 1000 FT AGL, THE CAPT STARTED A L TURN ON COURSE, JUST AS I EXPECTED HIM TO DO. 1/2 WAY THROUGH THE TURN, TBPB TWR INFORMED US THAT THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROC REQUIRED THAT WE CLB TO 2500 FT BEFORE INITIATING ANY TURNS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 620494: I WAS WRONG TO ASSUME THAT THE CLRNC WAVED THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROC.
