Narrative:
At denver international airport I was first officer on airline flight from den to ZZZ. Aircraft was a CL65-200. We departed from the gate and contacted ground. Our taxi instructions were to taxi to runway 17L via txwys M, ed. Approximately 40 seconds later, ground asked if we want runway 17R. Captain said that's fine. I advised ground we'd like runway 17R. Ground responds be ready to go at the end of runway 17R. Captain says 'before takeoff, to the line' checklist. I complete the items. I tell the captain I'm off 'communication #1' to advise the flight attendants. When I came back I said, flight attendants advised, 'before takeoff to the line' checklist completed. Captain responds, clear left, before takeoff below the line, I complete the before takeoff below the line items. After reading the last item on the checklist, an air carrier pilot comes over the radio and says, there is an aircraft taxiing onto runway 17R. Tower responds, 'what do you want to do?' nothing is said. The air carrier Y's B737 lands without incident. Tower calls us and asks if we received a clearance to taxi onto the runway. Captain responds -- I think we did. Tower then gives a phone number to call. What I learned from this event was, before I run 'before takeoff, below the line' checklists, I will verify that we are cleared to taxi onto the runway. This was a unique situation because normally I am on the radio to receive takeoff clearance. However, on this flight I was still completing before takeoff items because of the short taxi. Supplemental information from acn 620322: after completing our checklists, I looked down final and saw it was clear. I looked to the right and saw an air carrier Y plane landing and taxied into 'position and hold.' tower informed us that we were not given 'position and hold' clearance. I believe I could have probably slowed down on the checklists and informed tower that we may need a little extra time. I was trying to help tower fit us into the takeoff slot after flight Y landed.

Title: RWY INCURSION AS A TAXIING CRJ200 MOVES INTO POS AND HOLD AS AN ACR FLT LANDS ON RWY 17R AT DEN, CO.
Narrative: AT DENVER INTL ARPT I WAS FO ON AIRLINE FLT FROM DEN TO ZZZ. ACFT WAS A CL65-200. WE DEPARTED FROM THE GATE AND CONTACTED GND. OUR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO TAXI TO RWY 17L VIA TXWYS M, ED. APPROX 40 SECONDS LATER, GND ASKED IF WE WANT RWY 17R. CAPT SAID THAT'S FINE. I ADVISED GND WE'D LIKE RWY 17R. GND RESPONDS BE READY TO GO AT THE END OF RWY 17R. CAPT SAYS 'BEFORE TKOF, TO THE LINE' CHKLIST. I COMPLETE THE ITEMS. I TELL THE CAPT I'M OFF 'COM #1' TO ADVISE THE FLT ATTENDANTS. WHEN I CAME BACK I SAID, FLT ATTENDANTS ADVISED, 'BEFORE TKOF TO THE LINE' CHKLIST COMPLETED. CAPT RESPONDS, CLR L, BEFORE TKOF BELOW THE LINE, I COMPLETE THE BEFORE TKOF BELOW THE LINE ITEMS. AFTER READING THE LAST ITEM ON THE CHKLIST, AN ACR PLT COMES OVER THE RADIO AND SAYS, THERE IS AN ACFT TAXIING ONTO RWY 17R. TWR RESPONDS, 'WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?' NOTHING IS SAID. THE ACR Y'S B737 LANDS WITHOUT INCIDENT. TWR CALLS US AND ASKS IF WE RECEIVED A CLRNC TO TAXI ONTO THE RWY. CAPT RESPONDS -- I THINK WE DID. TWR THEN GIVES A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. WHAT I LEARNED FROM THIS EVENT WAS, BEFORE I RUN 'BEFORE TKOF, BELOW THE LINE' CHKLISTS, I WILL VERIFY THAT WE ARE CLRED TO TAXI ONTO THE RWY. THIS WAS A UNIQUE SIT BECAUSE NORMALLY I AM ON THE RADIO TO RECEIVE TKOF CLRNC. HOWEVER, ON THIS FLT I WAS STILL COMPLETING BEFORE TKOF ITEMS BECAUSE OF THE SHORT TAXI. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 620322: AFTER COMPLETING OUR CHKLISTS, I LOOKED DOWN FINAL AND SAW IT WAS CLR. I LOOKED TO THE R AND SAW AN ACR Y PLANE LNDG AND TAXIED INTO 'POS AND HOLD.' TWR INFORMED US THAT WE WERE NOT GIVEN 'POS AND HOLD' CLRNC. I BELIEVE I COULD HAVE PROBABLY SLOWED DOWN ON THE CHKLISTS AND INFORMED TWR THAT WE MAY NEED A LITTLE EXTRA TIME. I WAS TRYING TO HELP TWR FIT US INTO THE TKOF SLOT AFTER FLT Y LANDED.
