Narrative:
Watched WX radar and spoke to flight service on several occasions about a line of thunderstorms from north of bhm to south of lagrange, GA. There seemed to be a break that would allow us to get through. My passenger was very anxious to get home. I filed, checked the plane, and loaded. I was instructed to 'taxi runway 20R, remain on this frequency.' my passenger heard the same. I did as instructed and waited. Finally, I was contacted on ground and instructed to move off the runway. I was admonished and I waited appropriately. Lesson learned: 1) question what you hear. 2) repeat instructions and wait for confirmation. 3) be well rested and ready for the trip. 4) never move onto a runway without confirming clearance to runway. Contributing -- my being tired, unclr instructions, poor WX.
