Narrative:
Early on jun/thu/04, I was the PNF with a new hire flying the deadhead leg to iad for a morning pick up. The airport reported good ceiling and 3 mi visibility. We advised we were going to an FBO just off the end of runway 1L. We were given ILS runway 1R and set up and briefed for the approach. Outside the marker they asked if we would like to have ILS runway 1L and we said yes and set up for ILS runway 1L. Going down the GS we checked the runway RVR and it was reported at 1100 ft. The minimum published on the approach was 1800 ft. We did a go around and asked for the ILS runway 1R again. The PF was a new hire and I spent a lot of time observing and keeping an eye on the newbie (new pilot) especially with the low and slow go around. After getting back to altitude we received some good vectors to fit us back into the busy mix. After being cleared for the ILS runway 1R we completed our checklist. We tracked the ILS inbound. The controller noticed we went through the localizer and gave us more vectors away from the ILS's approach corridor. After assessing, what went wrong was the incorrect ILS frequency input after switching back and forth. I was so busy watching the PNF that I did not properly double-check myself. I believe there was no danger but an annoyance to approach. They did a good job bringing us around for a good ILS and landed uneventfully.

Title: AN F900 CREW LNDG IAD MAKE A MISSED APCH TO RWY 1L BECAUSE BELOW MINIMUMS. ON THE SECOND APCH TO RWY 1R THEY AGAIN MAKE A MISSED APCH BEING ON THE WRONG ILS FREQ.
Narrative: EARLY ON JUN/THU/04, I WAS THE PNF WITH A NEW HIRE FLYING THE DEADHEAD LEG TO IAD FOR A MORNING PICK UP. THE ARPT RPTED GOOD CEILING AND 3 MI VISIBILITY. WE ADVISED WE WERE GOING TO AN FBO JUST OFF THE END OF RWY 1L. WE WERE GIVEN ILS RWY 1R AND SET UP AND BRIEFED FOR THE APCH. OUTSIDE THE MARKER THEY ASKED IF WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ILS RWY 1L AND WE SAID YES AND SET UP FOR ILS RWY 1L. GOING DOWN THE GS WE CHKED THE RWY RVR AND IT WAS RPTED AT 1100 FT. THE MINIMUM PUBLISHED ON THE APCH WAS 1800 FT. WE DID A GAR AND ASKED FOR THE ILS RWY 1R AGAIN. THE PF WAS A NEW HIRE AND I SPENT A LOT OF TIME OBSERVING AND KEEPING AN EYE ON THE NEWBIE (NEW PLT) ESPECIALLY WITH THE LOW AND SLOW GAR. AFTER GETTING BACK TO ALT WE RECEIVED SOME GOOD VECTORS TO FIT US BACK INTO THE BUSY MIX. AFTER BEING CLRED FOR THE ILS RWY 1R WE COMPLETED OUR CHKLIST. WE TRACKED THE ILS INBOUND. THE CTLR NOTICED WE WENT THROUGH THE LOC AND GAVE US MORE VECTORS AWAY FROM THE ILS'S APCH CORRIDOR. AFTER ASSESSING, WHAT WENT WRONG WAS THE INCORRECT ILS FREQ INPUT AFTER SWITCHING BACK AND FORTH. I WAS SO BUSY WATCHING THE PNF THAT I DID NOT PROPERLY DOUBLE-CHK MYSELF. I BELIEVE THERE WAS NO DANGER BUT AN ANNOYANCE TO APCH. THEY DID A GOOD JOB BRINGING US AROUND FOR A GOOD ILS AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY.
