Narrative:
On jun/sun/04, at ZLA in palmdale, ca, supervisor instructed a controller to abandon their radar position to accommodate staffing needs in area B at ZLA. During that brief period an active radar sector responsible for the safety of the flying public was left completely unattended. Sits such as this are a serious threat to the safety of the flying public.

Title: CTR CTLR RPTR AT LAX CLAIMS STAFFING IS UNSAFE WHEN HE IS ASKED TO LEAVE HIS RADAR POS TO STAFF ANOTHER RADAR AREA.
Narrative: ON JUN/SUN/04, AT ZLA IN PALMDALE, CA, SUPVR INSTRUCTED A CTLR TO ABANDON THEIR RADAR POS TO ACCOMMODATE STAFFING NEEDS IN AREA B AT ZLA. DURING THAT BRIEF PERIOD AN ACTIVE RADAR SECTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE FLYING PUBLIC WAS LEFT COMPLETELY UNATTENDED. SITS SUCH AS THIS ARE A SERIOUS THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF THE FLYING PUBLIC.
