Narrative:
Preflight was performed in accordance with checklist. Run-up was performed in accordance with checklist. In both sits nothing was out of specification. Given clearance for departure on runway 24. After rotation, during initial climb, engine quit right after gear was raised. Loss (complete) of engine forced a landing with no time to put gear down. FAA arrived at scene -- aviation inspector met with witnesses, took photos and determined loss of engine caused incident. He advised he would be logging as an incident and that no other paperwork or information from me would be required other than the statement he took. Engine was going to be inspected to find cause of loss. Note: airplane was landed on remaining balance of runway 24. No injuries to anyone involved.
