Narrative:
The 'a' flight attendant advised that during ZZZ boarding and hou deplaning, passenger's 'rollaboard' suitcases were 'catching' on the seats at row 1 seats abc and that the seat set seemed to be sticking out into the aisle. On inspection, maintenance found that row 1 seat set abc and row 2 seat set abc had been incorrectly installed and, in fact, the seat set at row 1 should have been installed at row 2 and the seat set at row 2 was the narrow set that should have been installed at row 1. According to the mechanic that resolved the problem, both seat sets had the same part number which would seem to be incorrect. Supplemental information from acn 624435: but switching the 2 row sets corrected the problem.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737 FLT ATTENDANT IN CHARGE NOTICED THAT THE FIRST 2 SEAT SETS WERE INSTALLED IN THE INCORRECT POS BY MAINT.
Narrative: THE 'A' FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED THAT DURING ZZZ BOARDING AND HOU DEPLANING, PAX'S 'ROLLABOARD' SUITCASES WERE 'CATCHING' ON THE SEATS AT ROW 1 SEATS ABC AND THAT THE SEAT SET SEEMED TO BE STICKING OUT INTO THE AISLE. ON INSPECTION, MAINT FOUND THAT ROW 1 SEAT SET ABC AND ROW 2 SEAT SET ABC HAD BEEN INCORRECTLY INSTALLED AND, IN FACT, THE SEAT SET AT ROW 1 SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AT ROW 2 AND THE SEAT SET AT ROW 2 WAS THE NARROW SET THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AT ROW 1. ACCORDING TO THE MECH THAT RESOLVED THE PROB, BOTH SEAT SETS HAD THE SAME PART NUMBER WHICH WOULD SEEM TO BE INCORRECT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 624435: BUT SWITCHING THE 2 ROW SETS CORRECTED THE PROB.
