Narrative:
We encountered a sudden burst of moderate turbulence lasting 5-6 seconds at FL390, approximately 62 NM west of nrt while cruising in cirrus in an area of isolated thunderstorms. 2 flight attendants were injured, with back/neck soreness, a bruised hip, and a large bump on the back of the head. Both were stabilized and examined by medical personnel on board. The decision to proceed to destination was made after consulting dispatch and air carrier medical. Medical response at ZZZ was totally unsatisfactory. We waited for 20 mins after block in and then finally had an airport doctor and nurse show up after repeated calls from air carrier station personnel. The relief pilots who were at the controls during the time of the incident encountered strong moderate turbulence with a building cumulo nimbus that did not show on WX radar. The turbulence was approximately 40 NM before a line of cumulo nimbus in a high overcast layer. No further turbulence was encountered as we deviated 20 NM to the right (north) of the cumulo nimbus that were initially 40 NM ahead of the aircraft.

Title: A B777-200 CAPT RPTED THAT THE RELIEF PLT WAS FLYING DURING A TURB ENCOUNTER OVER THE PACIFIC WHICH RESULTED IN 2 FLT ATTENDANTS BEING INJURED.
Narrative: WE ENCOUNTERED A SUDDEN BURST OF MODERATE TURB LASTING 5-6 SECONDS AT FL390, APPROX 62 NM W OF NRT WHILE CRUISING IN CIRRUS IN AN AREA OF ISOLATED TSTMS. 2 FLT ATTENDANTS WERE INJURED, WITH BACK/NECK SORENESS, A BRUISED HIP, AND A LARGE BUMP ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD. BOTH WERE STABILIZED AND EXAMINED BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL ON BOARD. THE DECISION TO PROCEED TO DEST WAS MADE AFTER CONSULTING DISPATCH AND ACR MEDICAL. MEDICAL RESPONSE AT ZZZ WAS TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY. WE WAITED FOR 20 MINS AFTER BLOCK IN AND THEN FINALLY HAD AN ARPT DOCTOR AND NURSE SHOW UP AFTER REPEATED CALLS FROM ACR STATION PERSONNEL. THE RELIEF PLTS WHO WERE AT THE CTLS DURING THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT ENCOUNTERED STRONG MODERATE TURB WITH A BUILDING CUMULO NIMBUS THAT DID NOT SHOW ON WX RADAR. THE TURB WAS APPROX 40 NM BEFORE A LINE OF CUMULO NIMBUS IN A HIGH OVCST LAYER. NO FURTHER TURB WAS ENCOUNTERED AS WE DEVIATED 20 NM TO THE R (N) OF THE CUMULO NIMBUS THAT WERE INITIALLY 40 NM AHEAD OF THE ACFT.
