Narrative:
Low altitude go around on approach to runway 25L at lax. Went full scale on localizer and executed a go around. I felt this was worth reporting because of how far off we got so quickly. We broke out as we were going around and I briefly saw buildings and no runway. Not a good feeling. To avoid this type of missed approach in the future, I will stress even greater vigilance in monitoring the localizer. As the pilot monitoring or PNF, I blame myself for not calling this go around sooner. I caught myself looking down at the chart for a second just as we must have started drifting off course.

Title: LGT CREW HAS THE LOC GO FULL SCALE AND INITIATED A GAR.
Narrative: LOW ALT GAR ON APCH TO RWY 25L AT LAX. WENT FULL SCALE ON LOC AND EXECUTED A GAR. I FELT THIS WAS WORTH RPTING BECAUSE OF HOW FAR OFF WE GOT SO QUICKLY. WE BROKE OUT AS WE WERE GOING AROUND AND I BRIEFLY SAW BUILDINGS AND NO RWY. NOT A GOOD FEELING. TO AVOID THIS TYPE OF MISSED APCH IN THE FUTURE, I WILL STRESS EVEN GREATER VIGILANCE IN MONITORING THE LOC. AS THE PLT MONITORING OR PNF, I BLAME MYSELF FOR NOT CALLING THIS GAR SOONER.
