Narrative:
During a meal service, flight attendants were notified to stop service and get out manual and remove planned emergency evacuate/evacuation page to have it handy. Purser informed us that there was smoke in the cockpit and captain advised her to inform us in case of emergency landing and if evacuate/evacuation necessary, the signal will be 'flight attendant prepare for landing in bahamas.' captain informed us we will reroute to bahamas, but as the time passed, he informed us that we will try to reach miami airport if conditions permit it. We circled a few times to dump fuel. Finally captain announced 'prepare for landing' PA to miami. Upon landing, fire fighters and ambulances were present near the runway.
