Narrative:
Upon departure from lga, I smelled an unusual smell. Just prior to calling flight attendants, they called and reported smell and smoke (light haze). I turned off galley power, recirculation fan and packs. Selected ram air and told ATC that I wanted an immediate return to lga. Was on ground within 7 mins after calling ATC for return.
