Narrative:
We landed runway 1L at iad. Controller said to turn off on the high speed. We did turn on the first one where speed permitted. Controller cleared an aircraft for takeoff before we were clear of the active. Then he must have seen we were not clear. He canceled takeoff clearance and became angry that we 'missed our turnoff.' we were instructed to call the tower. The supervisor was very polite and advised us to start landing here as if it were laguardia. The next day, ground control was busy at iad. After our 3RD call to ground for taxi, he responded with 'show some restraint captain.' he then cleared us to txwys Z, a, and hold short of A5. So we did. Then he said contact ground 121.9 as we were holding short of A5. This next controller then said that we had 'pissed off a lot of people up in the ramp tower by not contacting them.' the last controller never instructed us to do so. In both events it appears that I was correct but ATC continued to belittle us and chew us out on the radio. This does not put crew members in a proper mindset to take off into busy airspace with our thoughts focusing on the sits that just happened. Not very professional.

Title: CHALLENGER CAPT EXPRESSES FRUSTRATION REGARDING IAD ATC SVCS AND ATTITUDE BOTH DURING LNDG AND TKOF AND TAXI OPS.
Narrative: WE LANDED RWY 1L AT IAD. CTLR SAID TO TURN OFF ON THE HIGH SPD. WE DID TURN ON THE FIRST ONE WHERE SPD PERMITTED. CTLR CLRED AN ACFT FOR TKOF BEFORE WE WERE CLR OF THE ACTIVE. THEN HE MUST HAVE SEEN WE WERE NOT CLR. HE CANCELED TKOF CLRNC AND BECAME ANGRY THAT WE 'MISSED OUR TURNOFF.' WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO CALL THE TWR. THE SUPVR WAS VERY POLITE AND ADVISED US TO START LNDG HERE AS IF IT WERE LAGUARDIA. THE NEXT DAY, GND CTL WAS BUSY AT IAD. AFTER OUR 3RD CALL TO GND FOR TAXI, HE RESPONDED WITH 'SHOW SOME RESTRAINT CAPT.' HE THEN CLRED US TO TXWYS Z, A, AND HOLD SHORT OF A5. SO WE DID. THEN HE SAID CONTACT GND 121.9 AS WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF A5. THIS NEXT CTLR THEN SAID THAT WE HAD 'PISSED OFF A LOT OF PEOPLE UP IN THE RAMP TWR BY NOT CONTACTING THEM.' THE LAST CTLR NEVER INSTRUCTED US TO DO SO.
