Narrative:
Parking was applied at taxiway. While waiting for takeoff, parking brake would not release after application. Cockpit indications were normal except for brake inboard inoperative caution light. Aircraft behind us saw a little smoke coming from left tire. Boston airport authority/authorized was dispatched to offload passenger. Crew commenced normal shutdown. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the airplane was an EMB135 and the cause of the inboard parking brake failing to release is unknown. The reporter said maintenance has not released any information on the cause of the parking brake failure.
