Narrative:
During takeoff roll, at about 120 KTS, the takeoff warning horn sounded, 'confign' in red displayed on EICAS, numerous warnings and flags came into view and #1 VHF radio failed at 153 KTS. I elected to discontinue the takeoff, retarding the thrust levers to idle. This caused the autobrakes to activate and apply extreme braking. Aircraft stopped quickly, with antiskid operating and no blown tires. We taxied clear of active runway, stopped the aircraft without setting the brakes and checked the brake energy chart. Operations noted hot brakes and deflated tires. Aircraft was shut down, passenger were unloaded and aircraft turned over to maintenance. Maintenance determines standby dc bus had failed, causing multiple warnings and failures on captain's instruments. All tires and brakes were replaced.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ALL TIRES AND BRAKES ARE REPLACED ON A B767ER AFTER A REJECTED TKOF AT 153 KTS. MULTIPLE FAILURE WARNINGS WERE FOUND TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE FAILURE OF THE STANDBY DC BUS.
Narrative: DURING TKOF ROLL, AT ABOUT 120 KTS, THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED, 'CONFIGN' IN RED DISPLAYED ON EICAS, NUMEROUS WARNINGS AND FLAGS CAME INTO VIEW AND #1 VHF RADIO FAILED AT 153 KTS. I ELECTED TO DISCONTINUE THE TKOF, RETARDING THE THRUST LEVERS TO IDLE. THIS CAUSED THE AUTOBRAKES TO ACTIVATE AND APPLY EXTREME BRAKING. ACFT STOPPED QUICKLY, WITH ANTISKID OPERATING AND NO BLOWN TIRES. WE TAXIED CLR OF ACTIVE RWY, STOPPED THE ACFT WITHOUT SETTING THE BRAKES AND CHKED THE BRAKE ENERGY CHART. OPS NOTED HOT BRAKES AND DEFLATED TIRES. ACFT WAS SHUT DOWN, PAX WERE UNLOADED AND ACFT TURNED OVER TO MAINT. MAINT DETERMINES STANDBY DC BUS HAD FAILED, CAUSING MULTIPLE WARNINGS AND FAILURES ON CAPT'S INSTS. ALL TIRES AND BRAKES WERE REPLACED.
