Arrived at aircraft XXX and found #1 engine running unattended. Cockpit door was locked. Start/stop selector was at stop, but engine was running. Red EICAS warning was present, main door open. Previous crew left aircraft without shutting down engine.

Title: AN EMJ FO, PERFORMING HIS PREFLT AT BOS BEFORE THE CAPT ARRIVED, QUICKLY DISCOVERED THAT THE #1 ENG WAS LEFT RUNNING BY THE PREVIOUS CREW.
Narrative: ARRIVED AT ACFT XXX AND FOUND #1 ENG RUNNING UNATTENDED. COCKPIT DOOR WAS LOCKED. START/STOP SELECTOR WAS AT STOP, BUT ENG WAS RUNNING. RED EICAS WARNING WAS PRESENT, MAIN DOOR OPEN. PREVIOUS CREW LEFT ACFT WITHOUT SHUTTING DOWN ENG.
