Narrative:
Air carrier #2 was level at FL220. Air carrier #1 was at FL230 sebound. Air carrier #1 was northbound. The radar controller thought air carrier #2 was behind air carrier #1 when he descended air carrier #1 from FL230 to FL200. Supplemental information from acn 632564: I descended air carrier #1 through air carrier #2, believing that I would have lateral separation the whole time. When I realized that I didn't have it, I issued turns and expedited the descent, followed by a request for a report.

Title: ZID ARTCC RADAR CTLR WORKING CONVERGING TFC NEAR ROD BELIEVED LATERAL SEPARATION WOULD EXIST AND STARTED THE HIGHER ACFT DOWN RESULTING IN AN OPERROR.
Narrative: ACR #2 WAS LEVEL AT FL220. ACR #1 WAS AT FL230 SEBOUND. ACR #1 WAS NBOUND. THE RADAR CTLR THOUGHT ACR #2 WAS BEHIND ACR #1 WHEN HE DSNDED ACR #1 FROM FL230 TO FL200. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 632564: I DSNDED ACR #1 THROUGH ACR #2, BELIEVING THAT I WOULD HAVE LATERAL SEPARATION THE WHOLE TIME. WHEN I REALIZED THAT I DIDN'T HAVE IT, I ISSUED TURNS AND EXPEDITED THE DSCNT, FOLLOWED BY A REQUEST FOR A RPT.
