Narrative:

Normal traffic pattern was completed, and a normal approach, all checklists complied with. Normal touchdown. As the aircraft slowed after landing, I applied brakes and the aircraft veered to the right. I released the brakes, corrected to the centerline and rolled out further, applied brakes again, and the aircraft veered right. I tried to correct left, and it swerved a bit left then right, then tipped on its nose. Myself and the passenger in the right seat were uninjured. This was a low speed event. I secured the magnetos, fuel, mixtures, batteries, and generators. We exited the aircraft and walked inside the FBO. Damage to propellers from striking the runway, damage to the nose from striking the runway. Aircraft was replaced onto the tailwheel with assistance from the fire department and towed to the ramp. I suspect a problem with the brakes, or other mechanical failure that cannot be determined at this time. This flight was conducted in accordance with FAA regulations, the aircraft flight manual, and all checklists.

Title: A BEECH 18 PLT LANDED IN FAVORABLE CONDITIONS ON A CTAF ARPT WHEN THE BRAKES APPARENTLY MALFUNCTIONED RESULTING IN THE ACFT STRIKING THE PROPS AND NOSE CONE.

Narrative: NORMAL TFC PATTERN WAS COMPLETED, AND A NORMAL APCH, ALL CHKLISTS COMPLIED WITH. NORMAL TOUCHDOWN. AS THE ACFT SLOWED AFTER LNDG, I APPLIED BRAKES AND THE ACFT VEERED TO THE R. I RELEASED THE BRAKES, CORRECTED TO THE CTRLINE AND ROLLED OUT FURTHER, APPLIED BRAKES AGAIN, AND THE ACFT VEERED R. I TRIED TO CORRECT L, AND IT SWERVED A BIT L THEN R, THEN TIPPED ON ITS NOSE. MYSELF AND THE PAX IN THE R SEAT WERE UNINJURED. THIS WAS A LOW SPD EVENT. I SECURED THE MAGNETOS, FUEL, MIXTURES, BATTERIES, AND GENERATORS. WE EXITED THE ACFT AND WALKED INSIDE THE FBO. DAMAGE TO PROPS FROM STRIKING THE RWY, DAMAGE TO THE NOSE FROM STRIKING THE RWY. ACFT WAS REPLACED ONTO THE TAILWHEEL WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE FIRE DEPT AND TOWED TO THE RAMP. I SUSPECT A PROB WITH THE BRAKES, OR OTHER MECHANICAL FAILURE THAT CANNOT BE DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. THIS FLT WAS CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAA REGS, THE ACFT FLT MANUAL, AND ALL CHKLISTS.
