Narrative:
Engine quit on low level and slow flight due to fuel valve mismanagement. The corrective action was to shut the valve instead of opening it to main tanks. Time ran out, no other options than off airport landing. Corrective action is to create checklist item and placard where main tanks would be selected as soon as airspeed is reached (pressurized tank). Also warning light is considered to alert valve being in small auxiliary tank position.
