Narrative:

We were flying into atl and told to expect a short approach. They turned us on a base leg and cleared us for the visual approach runway 27L. The captain hurried down thinking he was high and got down early. When he leveled off he was about 1000 ft AGL and was still about 4 mi outside the OM. He should have leveled at a minimum altitude of 1500 ft AGL (turbojet) and this also may have taken us below the class B airspace. I should have caught the error right away, but I was busy completing the approach and landing checklists and checking in with the tower.
