Narrative:
I worked on aircraft Y and X. Started with aircraft Y, as it needed to be pushed off of gate for additional room for overnight aircraft. Aircraft Y consisted of maintenance: line check to r-hand and l-hand engines, service of thrust reversers and inspection of a stud drilled crack in the diffuser section. Aircraft X overnight maintenance: line check, l-hand and r-hand engine oil strainers. After finishing maintenance on aircraft Y and relocation to remote parking, I worked the engines on aircraft X. Oil strainers were changed first, ran both engines with the assistance of fellow mechanic. After leak checking oil strainers, svced r-hand engine with oil and had technician verify security of oil cap. Proceeded to left engine to service with oil. Closed cowlings and entered oil amounts to logbook. Signed off paperwork in office. After morning flight, the left engine oil quantity read low. Logbook write-up: 'left oil quantity low.' mechanic at destination signed off logbook with entry: 'inspected left engine and found left engine oil cap open. Svced left engine and installed left engine oil cap service to 16 quarts oil cap secured on.'
