Narrative:
While taxiing out of gate at the mdt airport, I failed to hold short of the nonstandard hold line for runway 31. This line is located on taxiway a, just south of taxiway F. Realizing that I had passed the hold line, I brought my airplane to a stop. I knew that there was another airplane on a visual approach which I had visual contact with. The control tower instructed the other airplane to go around. I feel that there was never any danger of a collision. I feel that being distraction with making sure correct radio frequencys were selected as well as looking for the airplane that was on the visual approach played a large factor in this incursion. I had also instructed the first officer to give the pre takeoff briefing. This distraction both pilots, and allowed the incursion to happen.

Title: RWY INCURSION BY AN EMB145 FLT CREW WHEN THEY FAIL TO HOLD SHORT OF THE LINE FOR RWY 31 ON TXWY A'S HOT SPOT AREA AT MDT.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING OUT OF GATE AT THE MDT ARPT, I FAILED TO HOLD SHORT OF THE NONSTANDARD HOLD LINE FOR RWY 31. THIS LINE IS LOCATED ON TXWY A, JUST S OF TXWY F. REALIZING THAT I HAD PASSED THE HOLD LINE, I BROUGHT MY AIRPLANE TO A STOP. I KNEW THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER AIRPLANE ON A VISUAL APCH WHICH I HAD VISUAL CONTACT WITH. THE CTL TWR INSTRUCTED THE OTHER AIRPLANE TO GO AROUND. I FEEL THAT THERE WAS NEVER ANY DANGER OF A COLLISION. I FEEL THAT BEING DISTR WITH MAKING SURE CORRECT RADIO FREQS WERE SELECTED AS WELL AS LOOKING FOR THE AIRPLANE THAT WAS ON THE VISUAL APCH PLAYED A LARGE FACTOR IN THIS INCURSION. I HAD ALSO INSTRUCTED THE FO TO GIVE THE PRE TKOF BRIEFING. THIS DISTR BOTH PLTS, AND ALLOWED THE INCURSION TO HAPPEN.
