Narrative:
I called for taxi clearance at phl. We were instructed to taxi to runway 35 at intersection K, using txwys a and D. We were also told to hold short of runways 8 and 26 on taxiway D. As we started our taxi from the ramp on taxiway a, we noticed the afternoon sun was making it very difficult to see any distance during the taxi. We held short of runways 8 and 26 as instructed on taxiway D and were cleared to cross runways 8 and 26. We continued our taxi into the sun on taxiway D toward runway 35 and intersection K checking for landing traffic on runway 27 which taxiway D crosses. Intersection 35 and taxiway K is located just north of runway 27R. Not seeing intersection K due to the sun and not being given any hold short instructions concerning runway 27R, we checked for traffic and started to cross. The ground controller then came back and said do a 180 degree turn, intersection K is behind you. At no time was there a traffic or safety issue. What did I learn from this? On that day 2 things became very clear. From now on the PF as well as the PNF will have a copy of the airport diagram in front of them. On this trip there was only 1 copy. Secondly, when visibility is restr by bright sun or other forms of WX I will get a progressive taxi clearance. If we would have done these 2 items on this particular day we would not have had this problem.

Title: PILATUS PC12 CREW HAD A RWY INCURSION ON RWY 27R AT PHL.
Narrative: I CALLED FOR TAXI CLRNC AT PHL. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI TO RWY 35 AT INTXN K, USING TXWYS A AND D. WE WERE ALSO TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF RWYS 8 AND 26 ON TXWY D. AS WE STARTED OUR TAXI FROM THE RAMP ON TXWY A, WE NOTICED THE AFTERNOON SUN WAS MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE ANY DISTANCE DURING THE TAXI. WE HELD SHORT OF RWYS 8 AND 26 AS INSTRUCTED ON TXWY D AND WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWYS 8 AND 26. WE CONTINUED OUR TAXI INTO THE SUN ON TXWY D TOWARD RWY 35 AND INTXN K CHKING FOR LNDG TFC ON RWY 27 WHICH TXWY D CROSSES. INTXN 35 AND TXWY K IS LOCATED JUST N OF RWY 27R. NOT SEEING INTXN K DUE TO THE SUN AND NOT BEING GIVEN ANY HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING RWY 27R, WE CHKED FOR TFC AND STARTED TO CROSS. THE GND CTLR THEN CAME BACK AND SAID DO A 180 DEG TURN, INTXN K IS BEHIND YOU. AT NO TIME WAS THERE A TFC OR SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT DID I LEARN FROM THIS? ON THAT DAY 2 THINGS BECAME VERY CLR. FROM NOW ON THE PF AS WELL AS THE PNF WILL HAVE A COPY OF THE ARPT DIAGRAM IN FRONT OF THEM. ON THIS TRIP THERE WAS ONLY 1 COPY. SECONDLY, WHEN VISIBILITY IS RESTR BY BRIGHT SUN OR OTHER FORMS OF WX I WILL GET A PROGRESSIVE TAXI CLRNC. IF WE WOULD HAVE DONE THESE 2 ITEMS ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY WE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THIS PROB.
